BEF v FEI (CAS/2010/A/2058) - Tim Penny
In BEF v FEI (CAS/2010/A/2058), Tim Penny represented the British Equestrian Federation in its successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, against the relegation of the British equestrian team from the Top League of the Nations Cup competition at the end of the 2009 year.
The case involved the application of international principles for the interpretation of sporting rules to a set of rules which contained internally contradictory provisions. Tim was instructed by Richard Lane of Wright Hassall solicitors. The decision was published on 6 April 2010 but the reasoned Judgment has yet to be released.
